Developmental Audit

Developmental Audit: Strategies for Strength-Based Assessment

The Developmental Audit was cited as ‘a comprehensive tool for identifying a youth’s problems, significant life events, supports and strengths, private logic and coping strategies, and goals for growth in the areas of belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity’ in the Journal of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by Drs. Joe L. Martindale and Guy K. Palmes.

Life Space Crisis Intervention

Life Space Crisis Intervention Training

Advanced reclaiming skills for children and youth involved in self-defeating patterns of behavior.

What is Life Space Crisis Intervention?

LSCI is a therapeutic strategy for using crisis situations as opportunities to help students learn alternatives to patterns of aggressive, disrespectful, or self-demeaning behavior.

LSCI is being successfully used by teachers, counselors, alternative and special educators, mental health and juvenile justice staff, residential child care professionals, administrators, and others who deal directly with youth in conflict in family, school and community.

LSCI blends psycho-dynamic, cognitive, behavioral and pro-social methods to develop powerful teaching and treatment interventions for our most challenging youth.

Response Ability Pathways

The Circle of Courage has piloted an innovative RAP curriculum which offers “basic training” for all who deal with challenging children and youth. Response Ability Pathways – or simply RAP – provides essential strength-based strategies for all who deal with young persons in family, school, or community. Children and youth need supportive persons who respond to their needs rather than react to their problems. RAP provides these response abilities which enable one to guide young persons on pathways to responsibility.
